Kyuja Bae[배규자]

배규자는 한국에서 태어나 노르웨이에서 활동하는 작가이다. 노르웨이 국립 공연예술 대학교(Norwegian Theater Academy)에서 공연예술을 전공했으며 연극, 무용, 퍼포먼스 아트, 설치 미술, 희곡 및 동화 집필을 주 활동으로 한다. 배규자 컴퍼니의 예술 감독으로 재직하고 있다. 오슬로 부토 라보라토리움(Butoh-Laboratorium) 창단 멤버이자 PAO(Performance Art Oslo - 2012년 설립된 예술가가 직접 운영하는 단체) 멤버이기도 하다. 배규자는 다양한 예술의 형태로 에고에서 참나를 찾아가는 삶의 여정을 표현하면서 자신의 예술적 언어를 발견해 가고 있다. 인간의 땀과 눈물과 에너지를 신체적 움직임을 통해 실험하고 연구함으로써 참나를 찾아간다는 콘셉트로 현재 댄서이자 Maidas Festival의 예술 감독으로 있는 카타리나 스타르 헨릭슨과 함께 ‘Birth-Way 프로젝트’를 진행하고 있다.
Kyuja Bae is an artist based in Norway originally from South Korea. Her main focusing fields of art are theater, dance, writing, installation and performance art. She is an art director of Kyuja Bae Company and an original member of Butoh Laboratorium. As well as a member of Performance Art Oslo which is an artist-run organization based in Norway.
She is on her Birth-Way to explore her own artistic language, expressing about the evolving journey of life from Ego to Divine self through many different forms of art. Birth-Way Project with Katarina, a dancer and art director of the Maidas Festival, is all about this life journey from our Egos to our Divine Selves by studying and experimenting sweat, tears and energy in an artistic way.
